- Mantis: Kraglin told us the story of how Yondu ruined Christmas so we wanted to save it for you.
- Peter Quill: I'm not sure Kraglin knows how that story ends.
- Mantis: That is so sweet.
- Peter Quill: That's Yondu
- Mantis: I guess I wanted to do something special for you. Because... well.
- Peter Quill: What?
- Mantis: Your father Peter.
- [starts sobbing]
- Mantis: he might be.
- Peter Quill: Ego? He might be what?
- Mantis: He might be... he is... my father too.
- Peter Quill: Wait so does that make you my sister?
- [Mantis nods]
- Peter Quill: Mantis... that is the greatest Christmas gift I could ever get.

- Drax: Tell us, what was it like when had to save a small town by dancing like an idiot?
- Kevin Bacon: Oh. Well, that wasn't me. That was a character that I played, Ren McCormack, in the movie, Footloose.
- Mantis: What? What about when you fought and defeated the super-strong masked killer Jason Voorhees in the woods?

- Kevin Bacon: Nope. Again, not me. Just a character I played. And he actually didn't kill Jason. He got stabbed through the neck with an arrow. Yeah.
- Mantis: [realizing] He's an actor! He's never actually saved anyone.
- Drax: But actors are repugnant.
- Mantis: I know. They make me feel gross and creepy when they pretend to be someone else.
- Kevin Bacon: No. Acting is a wonderful profession. I mean, you don't get to live just one life, you get to live so many lives...
- Drax: We got Quill the worst gift ever. A disgusting actor!
- Mantis: This is the worst day of my life!
- Drax: We ruined Christmas worse than Yondu.
- Drax: Wait
- Mantis: What?
- Drax: I left my little funny man back in the house.
- Mantis: What?
- Drax: I wanna go back and get him.
- Mantis: But Kevin Bacon is gonna get away.
- Drax: But you still have your swirly red and white curly man.
- Mantis: How can you possibly think this is a man?
- Drax: What is it?
- Mantis: I don't know. A shape?
- Drax: Well, how is it fair you get to keep it and I don't?
- Mantis: Because I was responsible and held on to it. Drax, do you love Peter and want to save Christmas? Or do you want a little funny man?
- Drax: [thinking] A little funny man.
- Mantis: NO!
- Mantis: Maybe because I'm his sister, I feel like I should give Peter a happy Christmas. He's so sad about Gamora being gone. Maybe if we gave Peter a really wonderful Christmas gift, it would make him happy.
- Drax: Well, we could give him those zarg-nuts except you at them all.
- Mantis: Get over the zarg-nuts!
- Drax: What kind of present?
